Week 1 Down!

Deja Vu! Week 1? Wasn’t that over a year ago? 😉

Well, I’m done with my first week back on Weight Watchers and I lost a total of 5.6 lbs. 🙂

Obviously, that’s a great first week and I’m happy with it, but I also know the first week always yields a much higher loss, simply because of the water weight. Additionally, I found myself remembering something from the last time I did Weight Watchers: EAT ALL YOUR POINTS! Don’t leave any points on the table and eat all your weekly points too!

The reason for this was because as you lose weight, you lose points. You can have less and less as you weigh less and less, so if you’re not eating all your points, then you won’t keep losing as you step down, etc.

So… I found myself with virtually all of my 49 extra weekly points left on Friday and I figured I better use them. So… we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch. It was certainly good, but I felt almost immediately that it was the wrong decision and I wished that we hadn’t done it.

I like having the extra points for the times when I need them (special occasions, etc.), but I think eating fast food just to use them up is definitely the wrong approach.

Since I do love me some dessert, I think I will just make sure I have a Skinny Cowor Weight Watchers ice cream treat each night after dinner, even if it means using a few extra weekly points. Otherwise, I just won’t use them unless I need to.

I’m pretty sure that’s the approach I took last time, and I was successful, so I guess if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!! 😉

Oh, and I already lost a daily point! Ha! 😀

  1. That is exactly what I do. I try to eat all of my daily points within 1 or 2 points and then I use my weekly for drinks out with friends, a special dinner out, etc. I don’t think that I have ever used all of my weekly points (in a situation other than the holidays…which don’t count right?). I have’t lost, but I did start right before Thanksgiving, so I am happy to have maintained through the holidays and now I want to loose these last pesky 8 pounds! GOOD LUCK!
